Empress of Britain / Darkstar expedition - DIVE magazine this month - two SYSAC divers get a mention. ;)

As featured in this month's DIVE magazine, congratulations to the Darkstar team, who were the first recreational divers to dive the Empress of Britain, which lies at 160m, 50 miles off the coast of Ireland.

The expedition was led by Mark Dixon, with George Mair as reserve skipper and bottom divers Jeff Cornish, Steve Slater, Duncan Keates and Paul Mee.

The support divers on the trip (also getting a mention in the magazine) were two of our very own SYSAC members, Tim Cashman and Mark Evans. Feel free to buy them a beer on Wednesday.

DIVE Magazine to provide digital copies to BSAC members

Following on from the announcement that BSAC will no longer be using DIVE magazine as the members magazine, DIVE has announced it will now produce a digital magazine to read online or on Apple iOS/Android devices. The digital magazine will be free of charge to newly qualified divers for a year.

BSAC Members Magazine DIVE to be replaced with new magazine called SCUBA

The BSAC has announced a change to the members magazine. DIVE will be replaced with SCUBA in November. Not just a change of name, the magazine will be published by a different publishing house.
